You know when you get an email at 9.28pm and you need to reply instantly? Well, that was how this podcast with the lovely, honest, and fun Flo Carter aka @flocartereventing came to be.
Flo has been a supporter of the podcast for a good while now, but it was one particularly episode that spurred her into action, the one all about how to pitch to be on a podcast. And my goodness me, the email I received was a masterclass.
As per the podcast, Flo ticked all the boxes, and shared why she felt that you lovely lot would like to hear from her. I agreed wholeheartedly with what she said, I wanted to hear everything about the journey.
Flo is a 19 year old event rider who, at the end of a disappointing 2019 season decided to turn to social media, to find others with similar experiences. But she couldn't. She'd found a gap in the market for higher level equestrians to share their very honest take on the highs and lows of the sport. And so, in 2020, Flo decided that her social media accounts would lead the way.
In the space of just 12 short months, Flo's social media quadrupled with over 25k Instagram followers and over 10k monthly views on YouTube.
In this podcast, Flo shares her journey to this place, but also what it's like to have a social media account that explodes, what it's like to work with brands, how she works with the algorithm, and so much else.
